Plastic Extrusion Machinery (PEM) LLC, a manufacturer of downstream extrusion equipment for PVC pipes and customized profiles, will hold a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony on October 7 to celebrate its new manufacturing plant and company in McPherson, Kansas Total tribe. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held in the new building at 2475 Beijing Road. After the ribbon cutting, PEM will immediately open to visit the facility. Guests can view the administrative space and sign up to visit the production area.

Nathan Spearman, the owner and CEO of PEM, will speak with representatives from Hutton Construction, the general contractor of the project, and local leaders.

This new building integrates the operations of PEM's old Macpherson plant and the Tamwater, Washington plant that was closed earlier this year. "When our lease in Washington expires, it makes sense to move our business to Kansas," Spearman said. “The new space adds 87,000 square feet to our production and management capabilities, which can easily accommodate the operations of Tumwater and McPherson and leave room for future growth.” The site also has additional land available for future expansion.

Since Spearman acquired PEM in 2017, the company has achieved significant growth, acquiring a rival company Advance Equipment Co. in 2018 and expanding its manufacturing footprint to include a second plant in Tumwater. In addition, Spearman also acquired the business technology of the Costa Rican company BellTech in 2018.

The design of the new space takes into account the comfort of the employees, including a large lounge and additional meeting space. "I am very excited about the next phase of PEM because we have more room to expand our workforce and increase our production speed. Exciting things are about to happen in PEM," Spearman said.

PEM focuses on pipe expanders, pipe and profile drawing machines, utility saws and driving saws, hydraulic testing machines, tube bundle machines and other downstream extrusion equipment.
